Many of the people prefer silica gel beads over the other desiccants. Silica gel is basically a granular substance which itself is made up of sodium silicate. This desiccant is in amorphous form which is produced synthetically from silicon dioxide. This makes it the best technique to absorb unwanted humidity. Water is the reason for sustenance on earth, but if it is present at unwanted place even in the form of humidity it can be disastrous. So, in order to avoid moisture silica gel beads are used. Silica gel itself is available in three variants that is blue, white and orange. Selecting any particular type of desiccant depends on the purpose for which it is being used. Among all the three type blue and orange silica beads are said to be indicating silica gel.
Silica Gel Orange Beads
Silica gel orange beads have orange indicator. Among all the silica gel types it has the highest absorption capacity that it can even absorb 40 percent moisture of its weight. When the absorption capacity of a single silica bead reaches its height and it can no more absorb moisture that means the bead is fully contaminated and shows this by color transformation to dark orange. At the initial stage the beads changes its color from orange to yellow to green and then finally to dark orange indicating that it is fully loaded and needs to be replaced. Indicating type silica gel does not have any type impurities like sulfate or chloride. It also has high organic preference and high absorption efficiency.
